Paint protection film, ceramic coatings, and ceramic tint for electric vehicles. From the first Teslas on the Eastside to today’s newest models, we’ve protected them by hand in our Redmond studio.
EV makers moved to water based paint to meet emissions rules. It sits thinner and softer than the finishes shops worked with a decade ago, so there’s less clear coat between road grit and your color. Paint protection film puts a sacrificial layer over the panels that take the abuse, so the thin finish underneath stays untouched.
A battery floor puts real weight under the car, and your tires carry all of it. Everything they pick up gets thrown at the rockers and lower doors. Most owners film the hood and bumper and stop there, when the bottom third is worth covering too.
EV owners are often surprised their wheels still need attention. The brake dust is gone, but road film fills the gap and sticks to spokes and barrels the same way. A ceramic coating on the wheels turns a scrub into a rinse.
Without engine noise, there’s nothing pulling your attention away from the car itself. Long, uninterrupted EV panels put every swirl and water spot on display, and good light finds all of them. A ceramic coating keeps the surface slick and glossy, so the finish looks as composed as the drive feels.
In an EV, comfort has a cost. Cooling the cabin draws from the same pack that moves the car. Ceramic tint blocks the heat before it enters, so your air conditioning runs easier and your range holds up on a warm afternoon.
Every polish takes a small amount of clear coat with it. On thin EV paint, that runs out faster. We correct only what needs it, then protect the result with a ceramic coating so the car doesn’t need correcting again next year.
Every Tesla wears differently. Here’s where we usually start, then we shape it around how you actually drive.
This one earns its miles. Commutes, road trips, and highway hours mean the front end takes the most punishment in the lineup.
A bigger body means more paint facing the road, and that panoramic glass roof sends a lot of heat straight into the cabin.
A performance sedan that deserves proper care.
Complex body panels and a lot of glass. The falcon doors need attention where they meet the body.
Stainless steel changes everything. It cannot be repainted, so film is not an upgrade here, it is the protection.
Adventure vehicles that actually go where the debris is. Rocker panels, wheel wells, and the front end take a beating on a gravel road.
A finish that shows every flaw and deserves a corrected one.
A Porsche is a Porsche, electric or not. We are a PCA Porsche Club of America PNW partner shop, and Taycans are regulars here.
i4, iX, EQS, EQE, e-tron, and the rest. Same principles, tailored to the car.
Bring it in. If it is electric and you care about it, we will map out the right protection for it. We have worked on cars from Beetles to Bentleys, and the EV list keeps growing.
We look the car over before anything else, including under proper light. New EV deliveries often arrive with defects, and you should know what they are.
Hand off the keys and take a free loaner, based on availability, so your day keeps moving.
Correction, film, coating, and tint, done in the right order and checked at every stage.
We walk the finished car with you, then it is yours again.

Outstanding service. It was almost like I was picking my car up for the first time at the dealers. The person who worked on my car was an artist. They met expectations. Will go back.Posted on Google![]()

I have an older car, 18 years, and for several years I have wanted to have it detailed. Well, I picked the best for sure. And as the title of their business states, they pay attention to the details. So happy with the over all appearance and their thoroughness. The little scratch marks behinds the driver's door hand (18 years of wear after all) completely gone. When I went to the gas station the next day, even the area behind the door to the gas cap was clean. The oxidization of the hood gone, and I had them address the yellowing headlights. The body of the vehicle looks like a brand new car without the payments of course. Their customer service is excellent, very friendly and I definitely appreciated the use of a loaner car. You will definitely be pleased with the results and your investment in preserving the value of your vehicle.Posted on Google![]()

They did an amazing job cleaning decades of built up grime off my truck! Super friendly and easy to work with staff. The best part was the free loaner car so I didn't have to organize any rides there and back. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a high-end cleaning inside and out of your car.Posted on Google![]()

Metropolitan Detail did an exceptional job on my Porsche 911 GTS. They replaced the old PPF, applied a ceramic coating, installed tint all around and re-did the rear badging. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations. The PPF is nearly invisible, the tint is incredibly clean and the badging looks factory-installed. Throughout the entire process, Lee, Jamar and the team were professional, communicative and set clear expectations every step of the way. They even provided a complimentary loaner, which made the experience seamless. I couldn't be happier with the result and will be taking all of my cars to Metropolitan Detail. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch work.Posted on Google![]()

Complete wizardry! 1993 Toyota LandCruiser - beyond pleased with how it turned out - literally like new! Inside and out.
Often, yes. Most EVs use thinner water borne paint that marks more easily, which is exactly why film and correction pay off.
That is the ideal time. The most clearcoat your car will ever have is the day you take delivery. Protecting it early means you are not polishing away that clearcoat later.
Yes. Ceramic tint on a glass roof makes a noticeable difference in cabin heat, and it is one of the most requested things EV owners ask us for.
Tesla, Rivian, Lucid, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and more. If it is electric, bring it in.
Yes. Stainless cannot be repainted, so film is the right way to protect it against scratches and marring.
Yes, and most EV owners do. The order matters, so we map it out for your car.
